What is Silhouette InstaLift?

Silhouette InstaLift is a minimally invasive facial suspension treatment that uses specialized absorbable sutures with small, bidirectional cones. The cones engage the surrounding tissue, so your provider can reposition and support selected areas of the face. Unlike dermal fillers, which add volume beneath the skin, Silhouette InstaLift works mainly by repositioning tissue. It can give a visible lift without the incisions of a surgical facelift, although the degree of improvement is generally more limited than surgery.
How does Silhouette InstaLift work?
The sutures are carefully placed beneath the skin, and your provider then adjusts the tissue along them to create the planned contour. The cones help distribute tension and support the repositioned tissue. As the absorbable materials gradually break down, a localized tissue response may include collagen formation. The effect varies with the degree of laxity, tissue characteristics and technique.
Benefits of Silhouette InstaLift
In the right candidates, Silhouette InstaLift may:
- Provide subtle improvement in facial contours.
- Reposition selected areas of descended facial tissue.
- Improve the appearance of mild to moderate facial sagging.
- Offer a minimally invasive alternative to surgical lifting.
- Create visible change without facelift incisions.
The treatment is intended for patients who want modest improvement rather than dramatic change.
What areas can Silhouette InstaLift address?
Depending on your anatomy, Silhouette InstaLift may be considered for areas of the face affected by tissue descent, including:
- Midface descent: changes in cheek position that soften facial definition.
- Lower-face laxity: mild sagging between the cheeks and jawline.
- Facial contour changes: loss of definition from gradual soft-tissue descent.
Your provider will determine whether Silhouette InstaLift is right for your goals.
Silhouette InstaLift vs. PDO threads
Both use absorbable threads or sutures, but they are not the same. PDO threads are made from polydioxanone and come in several designs, including smooth and barbed. Silhouette InstaLift uses a specialized suspension-suture system with bidirectional cones designed to engage and reposition tissue. Those differences in material, design and support shape the treatment plan and expected results. Neither replaces a surgical facelift where there is substantial skin laxity.
What to expect during treatment
Your assessment covers facial anatomy, tissue descent and skin quality. Your provider will confirm whether Silhouette InstaLift is suitable and discuss the expected degree of improvement. A local anesthetic is generally used before the sutures are placed. The procedure often takes about 45 to 60 minutes. Temporary swelling, bruising, tenderness, dimpling or a feeling of tightness may occur. Your provider will explain aftercare, which may include short-term limits on strenuous exercise, exaggerated facial movement and pressure on the treated areas.
When will I see results?
Some lift is often visible right after the procedure, although swelling and temporary irregularities can affect the early appearance. The result is easier to judge as the tissue settles and heals. The degree and duration of improvement vary between patients.
How long does Silhouette InstaLift last?
Silhouette InstaLift gives temporary improvement. The absorbable sutures gradually break down, and the visible lift can lessen over time. Published evidence does not set a single duration for every patient; longevity depends on facial anatomy, laxity, technique and individual healing.
Understanding the risks
Possible complications include bruising, swelling, infection, asymmetry, dimpling, palpable sutures, contour irregularities and suture extrusion. Some complications may need further treatment or removal of the sutures. A thorough assessment helps determine whether the expected benefit justifies the risks.
Every treatment is performed by a licensed provider under Medical Director oversight, with clear protocols.

Questions patients ask
Answers from the clinical team, in the order they tend to be asked. Anything specific to you is confirmed at consultation.
Ask your own question →Is Silhouette InstaLift a surgical facelift?
No. It is a minimally invasive suspension procedure. It does not remove excess skin or give the same degree of correction as surgery.
Is Silhouette InstaLift the same as PDO threads?
No. Silhouette InstaLift uses a cone-based suspension system, while PDO threads are made from polydioxanone and have different designs and properties.
Are the sutures permanent?
No. Silhouette InstaLift uses absorbable sutures that gradually break down.
Will Silhouette InstaLift make my face look unnatural?
The goal is subtle repositioning, but results depend on anatomy, technique and healing. Temporary asymmetry or contour irregularities can occur.
