RF Microneedling in Miami
Firmer skin, finer texture, fewer scars.
Radiofrequency microneedling combines fine, insulated needles that create controlled micro-channels in the skin with radiofrequency energy delivered through their tips to heat the deeper dermis. The two together trigger new collagen and elastin, tightening lax skin, smoothing texture and softening acne scars more effectively than needling alone.
60–90 minutes, including numbing.
Redness for 2–5 days.
Full effect in 2–3 months.
Typically twelve to eighteen months after a series of three sessions.
Where you are

The skin along the jaw is a little looser than it was, the cheeks have a slight slackness, and the texture is coarser: pores more open, fine lines settling into the surface. If you had acne years ago, the scars it left have become more visible as the skin thinned around them.
None of this is what surgery is for, but it is structural. The dermis has lost collagen and elastin, and no serum, facial or superficial peel reaches that layer in a meaningful way.
Where you want to be
RF microneedling works in the dermis, where collagen lives. A handpiece delivers an array of fine, insulated needles to a set depth, and at the tip of each needle a pulse of radiofrequency energy heats the surrounding tissue to the point where collagen contracts and the body begins a repair response. Over the following weeks that response lays down new collagen and elastin, and the skin becomes firmer and more even from within.
Because the heat is delivered beneath the surface rather than through it, the epidermis is largely spared, which keeps downtime short and makes the treatment suitable for darker skin tones that carry a higher pigmentation risk with lasers. Depth and energy are adjustable, so delicate skin near the eyes, coarse texture on the cheeks and deep scarring along the jaw can each be treated in the same session. The result comes from your own collagen, so it builds gradually and nothing is placed in the skin.
What to expect
A topical anesthetic is applied first and left to work while your provider reviews the plan for each area. During treatment you feel pressure and warmth with each pulse, sharper on bony areas such as the jaw and forehead, and your provider adjusts the settings as they go.
Afterward the skin is red and warm, like a sunburn, with a faint grid pattern for the first day. Redness settles to a mild pinkness that makeup covers over the next few days. A gentle cleanser, a bland moisturizer and sunscreen are all the skin needs during that time.
60–90 minutes, including numbing. Depth and energy are adjusted for each area of the face.
Redness for 2–5 days. Mild swelling and fine crusting can appear early; avoid heat, sweat and sun for a few days.
Full effect in 2–3 months. A tighter feel and smoother surface start to show within a few weeks as new collagen forms.
Typically twelve to eighteen months after a series of three sessions. A single maintenance session each year keeps the collagen response going.
Who it tends to suit
- Mild to moderate skin laxity along the jaw, cheeks and neck
- Acne scarring, particularly rolling and boxcar scars, on any skin tone
- Coarse texture, enlarged pores and fine lines that have settled into the skin
- Darker skin tones for whom laser resurfacing carries a higher pigmentation risk
- Patients who want a structural improvement without surgery, product or visible change in shape
- Not suitable during pregnancy, with an active skin infection, a pacemaker or metal implant in the treatment area, or within six months of isotretinoin
Who performs it
Your skin, skin tone, scarring pattern and medical history are assessed first, and depth and energy settings are planned for each area of the face before treatment.
It is usually the centerpiece of a longer personalized treatment plan for texture and firmness. Your provider schedules the series, coordinates it with any injectables or peels so the skin recovers from one thing at a time, and sets a maintenance cadence once the initial results have matured.

Every treatment is performed by a licensed provider under Medical Director oversight, with clear protocols.

Questions patients ask
Answers from the clinical team, in the order they tend to be asked. Anything specific to you is confirmed at consultation.
Ask your own question →Does it hurt?
With topical numbing it is tolerable for most patients: pressure and a brief hot sensation with each pulse, sharper over bone. Your provider adjusts energy and depth in real time, and afterward the skin feels like a sunburn for a day rather than painful.
How many sessions do I need?
Most patients need a series of three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart to build enough new collagen for a lasting result, with acne scarring sometimes needing a fourth. A maintenance session about every twelve months preserves the improvement.
How much does it cost?
Cost depends on the area treated, face alone or face and neck, and on the number of sessions your provider recommends after assessing your skin. Pricing is set at your assessment.
Is it suitable for darker skin?
Yes, and this is one of its main advantages. Because the heat is delivered beneath the surface through insulated needles rather than through the skin as a laser does, the risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation is considerably lower. Your provider will still assess your skin and may adjust settings for the first session.
How long is the downtime?
Two to five days of redness, settling to a mild pinkness that light makeup covers. Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and sun exposure for about a week.
When will I see results?
A tighter feel and smoother surface show within a few weeks. The full effect on firmness and scarring takes two to three months, as new collagen needs time to form and mature, and it builds with each session in the series.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
Yes, with spacing. It pairs well with neurotoxins and fillers placed a couple of weeks apart, and with superficial peels or facials between sessions. Your provider will sequence everything so the skin recovers from one treatment at a time.
