Where you are
The tone is patchier than it was, the surface has a fine roughness, and pores across the cheeks and nose look more open. There may be faint marks from old breakouts and early lines that no longer disappear when your face is at rest.

While the channels are open, a serum selected for your skin is applied: polynucleotides to support cell repair and calm inflammation, with vitamins, amino acids, hyaluronic acid and antioxidants. The channels carry these actives past the barrier that normally stops them. Depth is set for your skin and the serum for your goals, and results emerge over months.

What to expect
Your provider cleanses the skin, applies a topical anesthetic and reviews the plan while it works. During needling, the serum is applied in stages so the actives go in while the channels are freshly open. The sensation is a fine vibrating scratch, more noticeable on the forehead and jawline.
You leave with skin that is pink to red, as after a day at the beach, and slightly tight. A final layer of serum and a soothing balm are left on, and the redness settles over the next day or two.

Who performs it

Your provider schedules the series, adjusts the serum as your skin changes across sessions, and coordinates timing with peels, facials and injectables so each treatment has room to work. For firmness or deeper scarring, they may recommend RF microneedling instead, or alternate the two.
With numbing cream it is very tolerable. Most patients describe a fine scratching or vibrating sensation, more noticeable over the forehead and jaw. There is no heat, which makes it gentler than RF microneedling.
How many sessions do I need?
A series of three to four sessions spaced about four weeks apart gives the collagen response time to build and lets the serum work cumulatively. After that, a maintenance session every three to six months holds the result.
