Acne Facial in Miami

Fewer breakouts, calmer skin, a clear plan.

An acne facial is a professional treatment for congested, breakout-prone skin that combines deep cleansing, targeted exfoliation, careful extractions and calming, antibacterial steps to reduce active lesions and help prevent new ones. It is paired with a home routine, so the improvement holds between visits.

Visit

About 60 minutes.

First days

Mild pinkness for up to a day.

Results

Active lesions calm within a week.

Longevity

Depends on continuity.

Adult breakouts tend to move to the jaw and chin, some deep and slow to clear, each leaving a mark that outlasts the spot. Stronger cleansers and spot treatments often leave skin oily and stripped at the same time, which can bring on more breakouts rather than fewer. You want fewer active spots, less congestion and a plain account of what is going on with your skin.

02

Where you want to be

The facial targets the two things that keep breakouts going: blocked pores and inflammation. Your provider uses an exfoliant suited to your skin, typically salicylic acid, which works inside the pore, or a gentler enzyme if your skin is already irritated. Steam softens the congestion so extractions empty the follicle rather than rupturing it beneath the surface.

A calming, antibacterial mask, sometimes followed by LED light, then settles redness. Acne-prone skin has usually been over-treated, so the goal is to clear what is blocked, calm what is inflamed and protect the barrier, with a home routine that carries the work between visits.

03

What to expect

Your provider first maps where congestion sits and which lesions are active or healing, then works through cleanse, exfoliation, steam, extractions and a calming mask. Extractions take patience but are not painful, and any pinkness has mostly settled by the next morning.

The visit

About 60 minutes. Assessment, cleanse, exfoliation, steam, extractions, a calming mask and, where useful, LED light.

First days

Mild pinkness for up to a day. A spot or two can surface in the first few days as loosened congestion clears.

Results

Active lesions calm within a week. With a suitable home routine, most patients notice fewer new breakouts over the following month.

Longevity

Depends on continuity. Monthly visits for the first few months, then spaced out as the skin settles.

Who it tends to suit

  • Adult skin with recurring breakouts along the jaw, chin or cheeks
  • Congested skin with blackheads and small bumps that home products don't shift
  • Oily or combination skin that has become irritated from over-treatment
  • Teenagers and young adults with mild to moderate acne, with a parent's consent where required
  • Patients already on prescription acne care who want professional extractions and support between check-ins
  • Not appropriate for severe cystic or nodular acne, which needs medical treatment first; your provider will say so and help you plan the right route
04

Who performs it

Your skin is assessed first to establish the type and severity of acne, which decides whether facials alone are the right approach or prescription care should be part of the plan. Mild and moderate acne responds well to regular facials and the right home routine; deeper, scarring acne needs medical management first, and your provider will tell you that plainly.

Every treatment is performed by a licensed provider under Medical Director oversight, with clear protocols.

Ask your own question →
How many sessions do I need?

Most patients benefit from a facial every three to four weeks for the first two to three months while congestion clears and the home routine takes hold, then every six to eight weeks for maintenance. Your provider adjusts the cadence to how your skin responds.

How much does it cost?

Cost depends on the length of the treatment and whether added steps such as LED light or a specialized mask are recommended for your skin. Pricing is set at your assessment.

Will my skin get worse before it gets better?

Sometimes, briefly. Exfoliation and extractions can bring congestion already beneath the surface up and out over the first few days. This usually settles within a week; if your skin is very reactive, your provider will pace the treatment more gently.

Why have extractions done professionally?

The risk with extractions is technique: the wrong pressure pushes material deeper and causes more inflammation or marks. Our providers extract only lesions that are ready to clear and leave deep, closed cysts alone.

Can I have an acne facial while on prescription acne medication?

Often, yes, with adjustments. Topical retinoids and benzoyl peroxide make the skin more sensitive, so the exfoliation step is adapted. If you are taking isotretinoin, we generally recommend waiting until the course is finished and the skin has recovered.

What about the dark marks left after spots?

Post-inflammatory marks fade over months, and faster when the skin is not repeatedly inflamed. Reducing active breakouts comes first; once the skin is stable, superficial chemical peels can help even out tone.
